Today Sony Ericsson announced its latest, and very much greatest, cameraphone: the new Cyber-shot Sony Ericsson K850. The K850 brings even more true camera functionality to the world of cameraphones. The new 5 megapixel auto-focus camera has a real xenon flash and a lens cover that automatically retracts when the camera is activated with the dedicated shutter button. Another camera related boon is the QVGA resolution, 30 frame per second video clip recording capability. Other camera features include Sony Ericsson's BestPic multi-shot capability and the new Photo Fix system for adjusting photo brightness levels with a single click. When the K850 is in camera mode, a number of icons on the keypad light up that quickly let the user know which keys access which functions in the camera, preventing unneeded menu navigation. The new pocket album application lets K850 owners quickly find photos based on when they were shot, as well as let them browse via thumbnails or full screen images like other devices.Of course there is much more to the K850 than its camera functions. For starters, this world travelling phone supports not only supports quad-band GSM/EDGE, but it also can connect to UMTS and HSDPA data networks on all three bands used throughout the world: 850MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100MHz. That should let the device connect to pretty much any GSM or UMTS network in the world. Other network related goodies include the support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync over the air synchronization of data.Like most of the current Sony Ericsson devices, the K850 supports stereo music playback and ships with a wired stereo headset. MP3 and other formats of music files can be stored in the 40MB of internal memory or in an external memory card. Amazingly, the K850 supports both Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards as well as the industry standard microSD memory cards. This should make a lot of people happy.

Since we purchased it "without warranty" On Amazon, SE's response for a diagnosis and repair would range in the ~$160 range. But with a lifespan of just 3 months.
Fancier, the K850 had an even shorter life : 3 months. This is our second "K series" SE phone and we encountered a similar issue on the K750i and now this K850i : the phones would not charge any longer after about a year for the K750.
Overall, nice phones, user friendly interface, nice screen and menu navigation. Very sad.
I suspect the pins for the charging connectors are breaking/ not making contact with the phone.I guess I will not insist on the next SE well marketed series coming out and will explore other brands from now on. just nor durable enough.
Add that to the equation and it is looking like a very very expensive phone.
Good price, excellent camera of 5 MP, good audio.One of the best 3G I have ever see.Default mini SD of 512 MB High recommended.The only issue to be aware is his size, everything else is ok.
I purchased this phone roughly four months ago, and it has stopped working. Given that there is no warranty that comes with the phone, I absolutely cannot recommend it to anyone. The keypad will light up, but the screen will not respond. A brief check on various internet forums will show you that this is a very, very common problem with the K850. Customer service at an actual Sony Style store was terrible, and they seem to know how bad this phone really is. Buy an Nokia N82 instead.
5 megapixeles , con Flash real. tienes una muy buena camara de calidad sony en tu bolsillo siempre a donde vayas , la variedad de opciones para diferentes tomas es muy buena , en especial la que toma texto me ayuda siempre en clases.Este movil es muy elegante , el color lo hace ideal para usarlo en ocasiones formales , el trabajo , etc. Siempre que lo uso mis amigos o las personas cerca a mi se quedan maravilladas por el tamano de la pantalla , es un movil que poca gente tiene y eso te hace unico Muy buen equipo, este sera mi ultimo cellphone antes de pasar al Xperia pero eso sera cuando ese movil llegue a los 300$ como para finales del 2010 jeje
The Amazon receipt had neither items of information. this item was purchased in August and in October, less than 60 days from purchase it stopped working. COntact with Sony received the response of supply the receipt with the IMEI number and dealer locator and they would service it. Amazon after multiple requests is not able to supply this information. Without this information service will cost the price of a new phone.
